Telco carrier have sim lock to protect themselves incase to prevent customers that didn't pay until the contract ends, and they also wanna earn our data roaming from the telco bill, but usually sim lock will be at sim slot 1.

This is just my guess but I could be wrong. Somehow the phone adjust and change setting according to the sim card, probably it does it automatically but surely the phone will still ask first. Not sure u just skim through and just accepted yes and somehow the phone cleans everything and follow the sim card carrier.

My guess its the sim card that did this but if u complain no use cauze its Thai. Try samsung service centre ask if there's a way to do a backup provided u always backup ur stuff.

no, when i slot in the sim, phone suddenly freeze, then blue screen with android icon (like software update animation) then im welcomed with thai language setup..there is no any warning pop out before it happen. if it does, i would not activate the sim T.T....is there any setting or hardware? i did refer to centre, they said im the first one to complaint about this problem

Retrieve ur data if u save on Samsung cloud. If not its gone. There is a way to find again the file but its beyond me. I have use overseas sim card before. Usually there is a setting or message that prompt out asking if I want to follow their telco provider.

Also next time get a pocket WiFi if u travel overseas. Beats out the hassle change sim card unless u plan stay that country for years.
