How to use smart select to extract text language other than English?

I'm currently with English(U.K.).

I'm thinking to extract some texts in Chinese (simplified) with Smart select. However after drag the square box, the "extract text " button is grey out, means I can't use that function.  The only workaround is I have to change my device language to Chinese in order for the function to be working. 

Anyone of you have the idea for the samsung smart select to be recognise other language text without changing the system language to the corresponding ?

You can try the below method. Hope it helps

1. go to SETTINGS
2. scroll down to GENERAL MANAGEMENT
3. click LANGUAGE AND INPUT
4. select LANGUAGE
5. add your desired secondary language without changing your default UK English
6. try Smart Select again
