It's been over a months when I started experiencing discoloration and very mild glitching.
Since then, I turned my display to dark mode and set brightness to adaptive mode in still low brightness.

Suddenly, early Sunday while casually browsing my phone glitched green then turned black or more like screen shut down. But there's still power and notifs, I just cant able to turn on the screen.

Later that night, when I try to plug the phone to usb to my laptop to back up files. Screen went back to normal and discoloration is gone. I'm not convinced my phone is totally okay now. I still have this worry anytime soon screen will shut off again.
How will I able to repair this the service center?
Or is this even able to fix??

Service center should be able to look into that and provide recommendations.

Hello Galacian,

Thanks for letting us know here your experience with your beloved Samsung Galaxy Note 10 that had issues with screen discoloration, mild glitch and unexpected black/screen shut down. I feel and understand why you are worried for a device that you've take care so much. If my device is facing similar experience, I will get worried too.

Before you try out the below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your device's software is updated with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order.

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Restart your phone.

Clear Cache Partition.

Step 1. Turn off your phone.

Step 2. Plug in the USB cable via PC or Type-C earphones (in case its USB-C to USB-C).

Step 3. Then press and hold Power and Volume up buttons.

Step 4. Release the power button. When the recovery screen shows up, release the volume up button.

Step 5. Navigate to and select Wipe cache partition (Volume up and down is for highlighting options and power is to select).

Step 6. Navigate to and select Yes.

Step 7. Press the power button to select Reboot system now.

If your phone is misbehaving, it's possible that a third-party app is causing the issue. To figure out what app is acting funny, you can use the Safe Mode feature. In Safe Mode, your phone won't run any third-party apps. This allows you to easily identity and remove the app that may be causing the problem.

Boot a Samsung device into Safe Mode:

Step 1. Turn the device off by holding the Power button until the option to Power Off appears on the screen. Tap Power off.

Step 2. Press and hold the Power and the Volume Down buttons at the same time, to turn the device on. When you see the Samsung logo appear on the screen, you can let go of the Power button while the device boots up. Make sure to keep holding the Volume Down button.

Step 3. If done correctly, 'Safe Mode' will display on the bottom left corner of the screen. If 'Safe Mode' does not appear, repeat the steps above.

Step 4. Once you're in Safe Mode, you can remove the third-party app that is causing issues on your phone.

Exit Safe Mode

To exit Safe Mode, simply restart your phone and it will reboot normally. You can also enter Safe Mode by pressing the Power key, touching and holding the Power off icon, and then touching the Safe Mode icon.

Hey Galacian,

Was your phone ever dropped? I remember this same issue happening to my old Galaxy S8, but that was because I cracked the screen months prior. It's likely a screen malfunction.

While your phone is working fine right now, I would advise you to do one of these two things -- preferably both:

1. Run the diagnostic tool from your Samsung Members app. Access it through the Support tab on the lower right hand side of the app.

2. Bring your device to a Samsung Service Center. It's the best way to get your peace of mind back, because our techs will be able to get your phone back up to working order. They'll even have parts ready for you if you book ahead 😄

Let me know what you decide to do and we'll help you get your device fixed :)
