Hey, I have been using fast charging since Note 5 in 2015. Lithium batteries will gradually degrade after about 500 discharge cycles. 1 discharge cycle is equivalent to a full 100%. E.g. u charge ur phone to 80%. Discharge to 30%. This counts as half a discharge cycle. Charge ur phone from 30 to 80%. Then discharge again to 30%. This will be considered as 1 full discharge cycle.
Not to worry too much about whether fast charging will degraded ur phone battery. As battery replacement is not very expensive and cost as low as $50 for third party repair shops.
Most importantly, if u don't want ur battery to degrade faster than the stipulated 500 discharge cycles, ensure that the battery temperature does not overheat or become too cold. This way, u can prolong ur battery lifespan.
