Hi, does anyone have experience using a capture card on the S23 Ultra and how did you get it to work? I want to use my phone as a camera monitor and to output for streaming! Thanks!

Hey Dusty21,

In theory it should be easy to connect a USB-C to HDMI cord to your S23U and capture card -- but I have not personally tried it, and can't give you instructions on how to do it yourself.

HOWEVER! As someone who works daily with a multiple screen setup (both home and at work) I have a few tips on how to make this happen!

1. Use Spacedesk: https://www.spacedesk.net/
I have personally used this before to cast my second screen to a mobile device. I've tried this with both an Android smartphone and a Windows Surface tablet, and works like a charm, except for the latency.

Since this option is wireless, you're going to be limited to a 30Hz display. If you're only using this screen for monitoring OBS/Streamlabs, that shouldn't be too much of a problem though.

2. Use Input Director: Input Director - Software KVM to Control Multiple Computers

This option requires that you have a secondary computer with you. I used this in the past to monitor my streams directly from the streaming service (as in, if I stream on FB Live, I have a browser with FB running, if I stream on Twitch, I have my Twitch stream running, etc...) but it is NOT a second screen. If your purpose is just to monitor your playback and chat, this should be enough.

3. Bite the bullet - get a (tiny) external monitor! GOOJODOQ Portable Monitor for Laptop Extender Stand Speaker Ps4 Phone PC Android Switch Macbook HDMI...

So here's the option I ended up sticking with at home. Having a portable monitor as a second screen saves valuable desk space (especially if, like me, you prefer to game on an ultrawide monitor) and has less latency compared to the wireless options.

This is the easiest and most resourceful way to have a second screen. The wireless options are pretty heavy on both local bandwidth and processing power since it's basically streaming a second monitor, plus all your inputs, to another device.

You also have to deal with the fact that you probably won't be hitting max framerates on your games with a second screen (unless you have, say, a 4090 paired with an i9 and 64gb RAM lol), so if you're streaming, keep this handicap in mind.

Hope this helps out, Dusty21!

Before you start streaming on Twitch, it’s logical to find out how this platform works and what points and rules you should comply with in order to actively promote your channel. I recommend starting with this article https://streamerplus.com/best-time-to-stream-on-twitch/, and also learning more about the Streamerplus Twitch bot, which may also be useful to you.
