Please run the diagnostics tool on your Samsung Members app to determine if your fingerprint scanner is damaged or not.

You should also make sure that your software is updated, and try resetting your device before using your fingerprint scanner again.

While I sympathize with your situation, I can only advise you to get your device repaired at a Service Center near you to ensure that your device is put back to 100% health by qualified experts using specialized tools for your Galaxy device.

Hello Angelo240,

Thanks for letting us know your experience with your Samsung Galaxy phone having issues with the fingerprint scanner that is not working. I feel your frustration after trying out several attempts to have it restored but to no avail. If my device has encountered similar issue, I will be annoyed too.

Before you try out the below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your device's software are updated with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order.

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Restart your device.

You may delete your fingerprint and register it again gaining a high average for all three scans and then it should work.

Clear Cache Partition

Step 1. Turn off your phone.

Step 2. Plug in the USB cable via PC or Type-C earphones (in case its USB-C to USB-C).

Step 3. Then press and hold Power and Volume up buttons.

Step 4. Release the power button. When the recovery screen shows up, release the volume up button.

Step 5. Navigate to and select Wipe cache partition (Volume up and down is for highlighting options and power is to select).

Step 6. Navigate to and select Yes.

Step 7. Press the power button to select Reboot system now.

If that doesn't solve the issue, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Launch the Samsung Members app, and then tap the Support icon for more options.

Step 2. Scroll and select Error reports.

Step 3. Choose a category of your concern. Select "Sensor/Touch".

Step 4. Choose the frequency of the issue you are experiencing. Enter issue details or attach a video or screenshot. Then press Send icons to complete the report.
