mainly just comes down to the liability, the less you meddle with your device, the higher the chance it's the fault of the manufacturer, so you can claim for damage or whatever, most problem that comes after you make change to your device has a solution in a forum somewhere, as long as you have the time to deal with it
Disadvantages is that there's risk of soft bricking ur phone.
You need to make sure you have the right load files for your phone version, right Odin version. You might also lose all data if you flash certain different file (Have to HOME CSC to avoid this).
OTA might be affected is your CSC is changed (you have to change it back to ours, XME)
