Hey guys,

I bought a S22 Ultra at release and thought it will last at least 7 - 9 hours, but it lasts only 3-4 hours, like my old S8 with a very hard used battery. The software lags are mostly fixed but the battery drain isnt. I think, for over 1000€ thats not acceptable. Please fix that issue or say me what to do to fix that!

Thank you

Hi, the main factor for the weak SOT is prone to the overheating issue of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. So the only way to fix this issue, is to enable Power Saving mode all the time, as it will limit the CPU processing speed to 70% of its max capacity and yes.. u will sacrifice on the high refresh rate.. as in Power Saving mode, it will be set to the default screen refresh rate at 60 Hz.

In my opinion, I would sacrifice battery life for using the flagship features.. as I paid higher price and wouldn't want to limit its features for the sake of saving battery and ended up using a device which is running at mid-range specs.

True enough.. this year's SD 8 Gen 1 chip is bad.. and among all devices using this chip, Samsung S22 series seem to fare the worst, as compared to Xiaomi and other Android phone manufacturers equipped with the same chip.

Thinking of the bright side, S22 Ultra has top notch camera hardware, S Pen features, large screen with excellent screen resolution, flagship processor, large battery (😅) and can support up to 4 future major Android OS (Android 13, 14, 15 and 16) and 5 years of security updates.

With these specs alone, I would say it's justifiable for a flagship phone.
