My s22+ suddenly occured pink line when I was using it yesterday. I have no idea what happened but I must fix it ASAP so I went to service center and end up paying more than Rm800 for the screen, which is ridiculous expensive... I still need to wait for the screen since it is out of stock.

Really dissapoint with Samsung tho. I was looking forward to use this phone for 4 years+ when I decided to buy it, but it turns out with screen issue after only 1 year+, which is out of warranty already, and I need to pay so much for repair...

Hi Tompez, I'm on the same boat with you, but with green lines on my S20+ out of nowhere. May I ask if you allowed a software update recently? Or any idea what could have led to the appearance on the pink line?

My post is here for your reference: https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s/vertical-green-line-after-software-update/td-p/26391515...

The service centre crew told me that the causes are most likely overheat or damage.

My phone's software is always up to date, but it has been quite a long time since I last updated. I believe it's nothing to do with the software update in my case, but neither does my phone have any drop or overheating. It just came out of nowhere when I was scrolling social media yesterday.

Yup, same here. Considering your phone is also a Samsung flagship phone, it's a bit unreasonable for them to attribute it to just "overheating". Like, if charging a phone or using a phone daily causes this to happen, can you really call it a flagship?

Totally agreed. Since this issue is so common, I believe there must be some issues regarding quality control if they do not intentionally ignore them.

At least your phone has already served you more than 3 years. You can just use it until the software update is not supported and move on to another phone. My phone is not even 2 years old, I have no other choice but to repair it. If any issue occurs again after the screen replacement, I would definitely switch to apple or whatever brand with no hesitation. Unworth to make another repair, as there is no guarantee when it will appear to be another problem again.

True, I was hoping to use it for longer until I can afford another one (am still studying currently).

Anyways, I hope your repaired phone won't have this problem ever again. Not sure if your S22+ screen is curved, but if it is, the customer service staff did tell me: To really really take care of these types of phones, don't put it in tight pockets (to prevent excessive stress to the screen), and don't excessively use fast charging (to prevent excessive heat from damaging the screen). To be honest, these are so common in daily life and yet their flagship phones are not designed and engineered well enough to endure this? Why even bother offering it as a feature in the first place?

Luckily, my screen is flat, so I wouldn't need to take care of it like a baby. However, I do use fast charging during working hours (normal charging for casual time).
They probably introduced these features because they wanted to compete with other brands, but without enough longevity testings. BTW my phone could even feel warm sometime when I was using WhatsApp/Reddit, I guess the snapdragon chip may also be one of the reasons.
Whatever the cause, the damage is done. Seems like I should never use fast charging / wireless charging again after repair.

Hello! My S22 is so new like 1year+ and the deadly line has appeared and I was asked to pay >Rm800 to change this. I only spent few thousands a year ago to switch to this phone. This is ridiculous. Please advise ASAP.
