I just updated my s23 (6.1.1) and to my surprise, it had a new smart select option (which I always use) I find the old version more useful- it's faster, more convenient to use (gif creation is there, animation and the oval) compared to the new one.
Good suggestion. Please send it over through your Samsung Members app by going to Support > Send error report. It's the best way to reach out to our dev teams working on One UI!
