Hello! The infamous pink vertical line appeared on my S22 this July 2024. I've read that many of the S22 owners also experienced the same.

Here are the issues that I've observed with my phone which I believe were also experienced by others:
1) The pink line appeared out-of-no-where. Maybe after an OS update or while using the phone.
2) The pink line appeared at the center aligned with the front camera. It started with blinking pink pixels then become fixed on screen.
3) The issue surfaced after 2 years of purchase. I've bought mine Nov. 2022 and the pink line appeared July 2024. Good timing, since the phone is already out of warranty. 🤔🤫
4) Samsung Service Center will ALWAYS suggest screen replacement but will NOT offer it for FREE.

It's very alarming and concerning for a flagship phone and it seems Samsung is disregarding this issue and won't even offer FREE screen replacement at least. I've lost my trust with Samsung. Do we need to have our phone screens replaced every 2 years? For an error caused by Samsung? Perhaps, I'll have to switch brands for now.

We should do something to inform the public about this issue. Otherwise, they'll be wasting money for such low quality smartphones. I DON'T RECOMMEND buying Samsung flagship phones.

No. If the issue has only 1 similarity with other users, it might be an isolated case. But given that there are at least 3 similarities as I have noted above, we can't rule out the probability that it was an intentional hardware issue. Perhaps, the manufacturer used low quality AMOLED screens that can be triggered by updates 2 YEARS AFTER to produce pink lines. (Think about timing for your warranty to be useless.) That way, they can earn more thru screen replacement. Guess what, the service center offers me an OLED instead of an AMOLED for replacement. 🤔

Try nyo po sa Samsung ceo office manghingi ng free repair. Meron kaseng nabigyan ng free. Ilagay nyo po sa desktop version ang Samsung site. Nasa bottom ng screen ang link

My phone is still with the service repair center as I'm still contemplating whether to push the repair using my own money or not. Money is not the main issue here; rather the hassle of having it repaired over and over again. After all, if this issue will recur every 2 years, I'd rather buy a new one from a different, more reliable, and more reputable brand. Why be burdened with frequent repairs?

Too bad, previously, I always consider Samsung to be the main competitor of Apple products. Right now, IMO, the latest Samung released phones starting S20s upwards seems to be low quality smartphones offered at high end price.

Sa Samsung din galing majority ng screens ng ibang brand kaya pwede pa rin yan maexperience. Examples is apple. 90% ng screens nila ay galing sa Samsung kaya Customer service lang ang paglalabanan. Baka mas madaling magbigay ng free repair ang apple.

Apple uses OLED, Samsung uses AMOLED. I think OLED is more durable though AMOLED screens has more color.

No. They use the same screen. Apple just renames it retina as a marketing tactic. Technically, it's just something Samsung both designed and manufactured. When it comes to durability, it's also the same so These lines also appear in apple. Customer service is just the difference

Search about OLED vs AMOLED. You're missing the difference. Apple uses OLED for their Iphones. AMOLED is prone to screen burn-in as in my case.

Amoled is a type of oled. Also, apple uses the exact product code samsung build. Anyway, in the end, Samsung is the one who build and designs screens of apple and other brands and they also experience those annoying lines. But they say apple has better customer service so maybe it's easy to get free repair with apple
