Anyone else having brightness issues with HDR or Dolby Vision content on streaming sites like Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video? The brightness stops halfway even though you can still move the bar all the way to the top.

I've tried everything posted online changing different settings but none work. Newly released content is unwatchable. Very disappointing.

Trying now. I can slide brightness to max. And it can get annoyingly bright. Two things, the scene may be dark and your subscription plan mobile plans are low res

Could be it your eyes? My wife can only see at highest brightness levels which I find extremely bright (dark room at night situations). Also, if you're comparing against, say, an Apple TV 4K device. There are some Android streaming apps that will limit your mobile experience.

No, not my eyes. I'm watching on an S23 Ultra. I'm not the only one experiencing this. It only happens on some content. Newer dolby vision enabled videos. Like the new live actiom version of 'One Piece'. There's even an article about it

Oh, so this is a rant? Can you select a specific scene that becomes unwatchable because of the lack of brightness? I'd like to try it out and compare to a TV (non Dolby Vision, too).

A rant? Why would you think that? I'm looking for a solution. Any dark scene is unwatchable. Other titles like black summer and witcher as well. I can watch them perfectly fine any of my tvs (also non dolby vision enabled) and even my cheap pc monitor.

Tested this out too, not seeing any issues in terms of brightness either. Best to check the type of subscription for that app you're using for streaming.

Usually the cheaper subscription plans only cater to 720p or lower and this applies to most streaming applications regardless of how hi-res your screen is.
