So after the feb update, there is a significant improvement in the quality and sharpness of the camera but the main issue still persist.

1. Selfie camera is not sharp at all. My s21U can take sharper and better selfies than this. But i noticed that portrait selfies take super sharp and crisp selfies. so This is obviously a software issue.

2. 12MP rear - big improvement. but when you zoom in on the photos, you can see lots of grains.. pictures are ok if you dont zoom in and just view it in the gallery as is but once you zoom in on the details, you can see lots of noise and grain which is a bummer. a fix for this is to use 50/200MP which completely fixes the issue but......!!

3. 50/200MP - when you snap a photo, the picture initially displays the actual photo you took with accurate colors and details. but then the magic loading thing happens and after that, boom. the pictures become unrealistic and overly processed especially on certain lighting conditions. so while you dont get grainy texture when you zoom in on the photos, the quality and colors become so much processed that the picture is basically unuseable.. this is not always the case because depending on the lighting condition, sometimes it is forgivable. but I did not pay a premium for a camera with hit and miss quality.

I dont know why Samsung is not releasing a statement about this and they should have at least gave an option to turn this thing off. 12mp is fine. why cant they just do the same with 50 and 200?! I am so dissapointed with this s24u hype.

btw, this is their response to that. I have had a very bad customer service experience with samsung but this takes it to a whole new level of stupidity. It's like they hired a 6th grader who know nothing about the phone and gave him a template to copy paste to.

I agree with your observations on the 50/200MP photos taken by S24U after the update. Hopefully a newer firmware version will release soon. Other countries say they received around 750MB worth of data in this update while PH users only received around 670MB. There's no mention from these reviewers (who received 750MB data) about the overprocessed 50/200MP photos. Hoping that the 70MB difference is the key to resolve the issue

hows your 12mp though? its grainy when you zoom in on the photos taken right? like the photo i attached.. i mean its not that bad on certain lighting conditions. but nonetheless, it is not impressive..1708998394218.jpg20240227_094506_1000006439_1708998309.jpg

Yes. Same observation on the 12MP photos (including the selfie camera) although colors appear to be more accurate compared to the ones taken using the 50/200MP lenses. Not sure if you'd agree that the update seems to have made the camera worse. Let's wait and see what Samsung does to address this

Same thoughts here ... especially with photos of people .

The 12 MB photos are the most accurate. 200 and 50MB are okay in the viewer but overprocessed afterwards. Keeping Intelligent optimization to minimum, autoHDR ON and picture softening to medium helps a bit for me.

Coming from an iphone 13 pro max  and seriously thinking of trading my s24 Ultra for  a Xiaomi 14 Ultra if there isn't a update soon 😞

Tried this work around and 50/200MP photos look a bit better but overall quality is still not close to what we expect it to be. Plus it should work as is without too much tweaking and looking for work arounds just to make it work well
