Samsung Galaxy S25 May 2025 Security Update

May 2025 Security Update Released
• Samsung has just dropped the One UI 7-based May 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 series in the US.
• The rollout is taking place for carrier-locked models in the country and comes as a shocking development in tow.

Unexpected Update Shift
• Recent developments have suggested that the company is testing a major firmware update for the flagship lineup.
• However, the build has been changed significantly, turning it into just a regular security update for the devices.
• It seems Samsung has reserved those enhancements for a future release.
• Users of the Galaxy S25 series may receive a big upgrade in June 2025.
• Meanwhile, the latest May 2025 security patch is worth installing on your Galaxy (via SamMobile).

Software Version Details
• Software versions:
• Galaxy S25 – S931USQS3AYDF
• S25 Plus – S936USQS3AYDF
• S25 Ultra – S938USQS3AYDF

Future Outlook and Expectations
• Samsung is expected to share the May patch details on Monday.
• Google may also kick off the rollout of Android’s May patches for the Pixel lineup.
• The new SMR is expected to further refine the software and functional stability of Galaxy devices.

This May 2025 update ***! I got everything I never wanted and never asked for and now seem to have less battery capacity. I have lost over 40 percent in 4 hours. And good luck finding anything, I have to comb through layers and layers of added permissions to find where I can change my settings back to what they were because now they're all messed up. And FFS, I don't want AI on my phone. Eesh.

YESSSS I want it noted that I do NOT GIVE PERMISSION for Samsung to add ANY AI features to my phone.

It is DISGUSTING and Macavalian. They are doing the EXACT same deceptive practice they are doing in Legislative Bills. They have little sneaky "acceptions" written into thousands of pages of jargon that oftentimes has nothing to do with what you actually think the Bill is about.

They add things into the documents and then present it RIGHT BEFORE the deadline so that it just gets passed!

Samsung is undoubtedly doing the same thing. They are having us click "accept" to things that are so buried, and then giving a warning that WE HAVE TO UPDATE our phone...... for our security. But the reality is that they tricked us into approving things that we knew nothing about!

I want AI, the ability to randomly use my camera, my speakers, my location ALL TURNED OFF unless it asks for permission FIRST, right before it happens!

Again, for the record, I DO NOT GIVE Samsung and/or it's partners, or the US Government to add any AI or tracking features without my express  consent. If they are contending that it is "critical" to the phones functionality, they at minimum need to send a message that only discusses these changes, very clearly, so that I know what they are changing or adding to my phone.

If my public comment is removed, I will take that as an attempt to keep others from being made aware of Samsung practices.

Christine, they are doing something BAD!

Apart from the many new features that I don't like, for example, the battery-level indicator is now tiny and hard to see, every morning I am asked to open the "Setup Wizard", which uselessly makes me enter the password for a locked folder and then tells me that the sim card is not properly inserted. But the phone has an e-sim and is working fine. ***?

The fonts on my notifications is so small!! And I already wear glasses..changing the font size in the settings DOES NOT CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION FONT..so frustrating
