Hi @Samsung,

Could you please explain why the Super Fast Charging is not accurate?

My Samsung S21+ is just a 6-month-old phone with a new battery.

I charge the phone from 39%, it said required 55 minutes to fully charged.

Sometimes I charge the phone from 15%, it said required 1 hour 8 minutes to fully charged.

But when I keep checking my phone (Charging status) until it is fully charged for both scenario, it took more than the mentioned duration.

39%, it said 55 minutes to fully charged, but it took 1 and half hours to fully charged

15%, it said required 1 hour 8 minutes to fully charged, but it took 1 hour 45 minutes to fully charged.

** All the accessories I was using are original from Samsung, C-to-C cable, 25W adapter charger; and it is the latest software (One UI 4.1).

Why not accurate?

Please fix the issue if it is a bug.

Thanks

Hi Bro.
Initial charging estimation might change depends on charging condition. Possibly you might need to change C to C cable as first troubleshooting process.
Also, I presume during charging, you didn't use the phone at all, right?
All the best.👌🏻

Don't think is cable issue as the cable is come with the phone in the box and only 6 months old. And yes, not using the phone while charging. But I charge with phone on, is it required to turn off the phone for charging? But, I think nowadays all the phone not required to turn off for charging.

It happens without us knowing that the cable might have been 'injured' causing lesser ampere to carry than it suppose to. I've seen a cable with less than 3 month old having the symptom, so yea, it doesn't mean only older cable will experience degradation but it also depends on how we use and take care of it.

Shouldn't be a problem charging with the phone on. In fact, I never charge the phone while switching it off 😁

you're probably right about the cable bro. The first thing i always do when I detect unusually slow charging is :
1. If my charging cable is plugged all the way into the charger or not (we do by accident yank on our cables). If it ain't plugged in all the way, it won't charge properly too.
2. Check to see if my cable is damaged (usually at areas where its often bent).

The above 2 suggestion always solves my slow charging situ.

Even when not using the phone during charging, some applications on the phone are drawing power during the charging.
Suggest to factory reset the phone when want to benchmarking the charging performance.

I have the same issue, but not just for super fast charging. Normal, Fast, Super fast. Doesn't matter which charger or cable. I tested while not using the phone. Tested throughout the charge to see if it would update its guess.

I bet it's widespread, just nobody actually gets a stopwatch and checks their phone is making an accurate guess.
