Hi

Is there a trick to enable lense switching on 4k60 video? Mine's only doing digital crop.

My device is s23+. Also, want to know if newer galaxy S series cam do this so that i'd know if i'd better look at other brands when i upgrade my phone in the next few months

Hello, PatLester! Sadly, the Galaxy S23+ can’t switch lenses during 4K60 recording due to hardware limits, which is why you’re seeing a digital crop. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra changes the game! Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it allows seamless lens switching at 4K60, even with the front camera.

Plus, it records in 8K with 1x and 5x optical zoom, perfect for versatile, high-quality shots. If video flexibility is key, the S24 Ultra could be the upgrade you’re looking for! 🤗

Thanks for the response Janine.

Though it's disappointing that Samsung decided to gatekeep this feature to the ultra model. I don't like the form factor of the s24 ultra, so I'm always going for a smaller phone that's easier to hold. I don't think it's a processor issue since there are some phones from other brands that can do this with an 8 gen 2 chip or with an even weaker processor like tensor or kirin.
