What if Samsung S24 phones also will have green/pink line issues after warranty?

Due to green line problem which I encountered after Samsung software updates in July 2024, since my phone S22+ although less than 2 years old (and thus no longer under warranty), I am in a way forced to buy a new replacement phone earlier than my intended timing (initially I thought of upgrade to Samsung S24+ in Jan 2025). Since S24+ price is about the similar price range as my S22+, and probably only safe for user to perform upgrades only during the 1 year warranty period, I am concerned of the possible high risk of the same problem again if I buy Samsung S24+ when getting a new replacement phone. Thus I think I better think twice to avoid such unpleasant experience again.

Is anyone planning to go to samsung, actually if all of us go together we can make a big impact on this issue and change the outcome for good and for the future. I noticed a lot of people in india did that. They went in groups of 5 or 6 all with same issue and then samsung finally had to make it official. At least this is what I have picked up from forums.

Seems like Samsung Singapore won't bother because they probably don't mind losing some customers if some of their long-time loyal customers decide to switch to other brands. They did not even bother to remember follow-up on contacting me again despite promising me that they will call me again after I insisted that the team escalate to management with regard to my request for free replacement of phone screen since the problem was caused by Samsung updates on my phone which was only 1 year 7 months old. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach their hotline team for my case, I went to my data service provider M1 and was told that the best solution is buy a new phone because replacing screen regardless whether the cost is chargeable or free the green line problem may occur again for the old models.

Hey bro you can refer to these two post to see what samsung are doing about it and how they're handling it. Based on all the users that have reached out to me you can see the 3 things samsung may/will do that I have tally up in these two post based on all the users that reached out to me. Samsung Management has already reached out to me via all these post for more details on my issue but after providing them the information yesterday, they've yet to respond.

Just bear in mind if you're not alone means it's a widespread problem everyone will face at some point of time in a way that has already started. If you truly VoiceOut it may be something that really comes up to their attention to resolve or have some ongoing programme. If you read the post links as given above some have stated that they only needed to pay technician fee of $54 and samsung replaced it for them. Even if that's still really unfair as it should be free, it's the best case scenario. Some stated the issue came back even after replacement, that's the sad part.

These are just some from which I'm able to gauge the lower cost samsung phones are not really affected and it seems to happen a lot more to exynos processors. Is yours exynos?

Yes, I also feel that it is unfair to customers for the labour charges that Samsung will impose on the replacement of phone screens that were damaged as a result of Samsung updates. And I also agree that it is sad for those who encountered the same problem even with replacement screen. In fact, if I choose the option of screen repair, Samsung said the repair will take about 2 weeks, but I would have difficulty too because I don't have any spare phone to use during the repair period. In addition, as the green line screen problem happened close to the period of my planned overseas trip, I didn't had much choice but had to proceed to buy a new handphone to settle my problem.

As I don't have any spare phone & I had difficulty bearing with the bright green light causing a lot of discomfort for my eyes, since I need a proper condition phone prior to my overseas trip, I proceeded to buy a new phone. Initially I wanted to get another lower cost brand which has similar specs as S24 series but after considering the rush to need to get familiar with the phone functions prior to my flight if I get a different brand, I decided & bought Samsung lower priced model in comparison to S22+ because of my tight budget constraints. Probably the consolation for me was that I managed to minimise my cost through some price discount from my data service provider, + I took up their interest-free instalment payment plan, which is tied to period contract. I think I better set alarm reminder on my phone to remind myself not to do any Samsung software updates from the date of phone warranty expiry date...lol
