Battery Status: Bad

Hi all, 

I'm hoping to get some answers and some suggestions. I have been using my Galaxy Zfold 4 for almost a year, bought it on December 2022. Since then I have been using the diagnostic feature on this app to be sure that my phone is working just fine until a few week back.

The diagnostics for my battery status showed that it needed action:

I was surprised at the result as my phone was less than a year old, so I decided to contact Samsung Service hotline to get some advice; long story short I used up one of my In-home servicing and got my batteries and some other parts replaced with the exception of my usb port and motherboard. The servicing took place on the 2nd of September and after the servicing it still showed that the battery status was bad.

Anyone else facing such issues on the Zfold 4? If so, any idea what may be the cause and what did you do to fix it? Tyia.

Hi, supposedly the technician should do a diagnostic test after completing the repair.

Hmm.. in that case, I guess may need to bring down to service centre for another replacement of battery again, but that will require factory reset of phone.

He did, his advice to me was to use the phone for another 2-3 weeks. Which I felt weird, so I sought further advice from the online chat on Samsung's website and was later advised to bring it down to a service centre which I also already did and they gave me this report (see photo)

Went to the service centre at Woodlands Causeway Point, the staff there said that it may due to a failure in the screen's component but she was unsure which one and she advised to call Samsung service hotline to ask that my in-home service not be used up as the issue with my phone is unresolved.IMG-20230906-WA0004_1000007014_1694004489.jpg

Ah okay.. at least the Samsung staff helped to request got the in-home service to be not utilised, since ur issue is not considered fixed yet.

After the in-home service has been marked as unused, then u can request for the service again bahs.

She advised me to request, which I did but till date Samsung hasn't said anything about it being "returned" to me.

What happened was the CSO, when I called in to the hotline, got someone to call me back from another service department to try and do a diagnostic using smart tutor, didn't have the time as they called me during work hours, when I asked if they were going to call me again another day, I was to told to call them back if I notice any issues with my phone.

Ah I see.. but so far what is the screen on time? Normal usage for Z Fold 4 should be around 6 to 7 hrs of screen on time for moderate usage.

It's becoming more obvious that the battery is draining again, now it's gotten much worse, happening when on standby and I'm not using the phone.

Alright.. looks like the staff is right. A component in the screen could have been faulty, which triggers the battery diagnosis as Bad.

So now u can call them back again to report that the battery replacement could have damaged ur screen. Should qualify for a screen replacement and probably another new battery as well. Since can't guarantee that this new battery is not faulty.
