OthersFor years, iPhone users have raved about the Apple ecosystem—one of the main reasons being the convenience of AirDrop. But after switching to a fully Samsung ecosystem, I wanted to see how Samsung’s answer to AirDrop—QuickShare—holds up. Spoiler: It left me impressed!
QuickShare is not just limited to Samsung devices; it works with any Windows computer too. In fact, I found it faster than AirDrop! I tested this by QuickSharing from my Samsung to my work laptop (a Dell), and AirDropping from my iPhone to my MacBook. Both transfers involved sending 1GB of images.
Here are the results:
QuickShare: 19 seconds ⏱
AirDrop: Over 30 seconds
The difference was surprising, with QuickShare coming out significantly faster. And here’s what really sets Samsung apart for me: You don’t need to stay locked into using only Samsung products. As long as your devices run on Android or Windows, QuickShare works seamlessly. Whether you have a Galaxy Book, a gaming laptop, or a custom-built PC, the file-sharing experience remains consistent.
In contrast, Apple’s ecosystem often nudges users to stick with Apple products for optimal performance. With Samsung, the ecosystem is flexible, allowing more freedom in choosing the best devices to suit your needs while still enjoying the convenience of a smooth, connected experience.
Have you tried QuickShare? Let me know what you think!

So far, I tested QuickShare between Samsung and Samsung devices and it's very convenient. Just turn on quickshare for both devices and start sending. Can send over large sized videos and photos to another device. As compared to the past, where there are file size limitations and the failure rate of the 1st send is very high. Looking to try to send to non-Samsung device if there is a chance to.

Problem is, Samsung ,(or Google), doesnt advertise this feature much.
Most people will know Airdrop belongs to Apple devices just by hearing it.
Cant say the same for Quickshare...
