Hello kennn23,

Sorry to hear that, about your experience with your Samsung Galaxy device having issues with auto-rotate that does not work and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4. Reset your device.

Pull down the notifications panel on your Samsung phone. Look for the portrait or auto-rotate icon and tap on it. Then turn your phone into a landscape position, pull down the panel, and tap on the auto-rotate icon again. Repeat this three times, then restart your phone. Enable Auto Rotate on the Home and Voice Call screens.

Auto rotate allows your device's screen to automatically adjust and rotate depending on how you hold it. For example, if you turn your phone sideways, the screen will automatically switch to landscape mode. Follow the steps below to enable the Auto rotate feature.

Step 1. Swipe down on the screen to open the Quick panel.

Step 2. If a gray Portrait or Landscape mode icon is displayed, tap the gray icon to activate Auto rotate. The icon will glow blue when enabled.

If the Auto rotate feature is already activated, you don't need to select anything.

Note: If the app you are using doesn't support an orientation, it will not change when you rotate your phone. Not all apps work in both Portrait and Landscape mode.

If that doesn't work, you can submit an error report through Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Settings/System".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
