You can quickly and easily take pictures and videos with the camera on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Additionally, you can use various camera modes.

Follow these easy steps to troubleshoot and figure out what's causing your camera issue.

A) First, ensure that your device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.

Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Download and Install > Follow On-screen notifications.

B) How to turn on the flash.

  • In the camera app, the flash can be switched to on, off or auto using the lightning icon. 
  • Depending on your smartphone, you will either have to keep pressing the flash icon until it's turned yellow, or you'll have to select the yellow flash icon to turn the flash on.

C) Reset the camera app.

Open the Camera app, and then tap Settings.

D) Reset the settings.

Swipe to and tap Reset settings, and then tap Reset.

E) Running the Diagnostic Tools under Samsung Members app.

1. Run Samsung Members and select Get help on the lower half of the screen.

2. Tap View Tests located under Diagnostics.

3. Diagnostics checks, Individually Tap the following;

     "Camera" & "Torch"

4. Your Galaxy phone will then run through the checks.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the check.

6. You can view your results after each check is complete.

F) Restarting your device.

Press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it.

The reason might be just the settings. If not, you can always always diagnose your device by using Samsung Members application, by doing interactive checks. You may reset your settings by going to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Settings
