OthersI kept a local copy of my camera roll in one of my devices' synced folders, i.e. Camera/, then turned off Sync with OneDrive on those devices. I open the Samsung Gallery on a device that's still syncing, and inside each folder with synced content delete all the gray photos I could find, or if you have to, all the files in the folder (a function which you can't find in OneDrive or even Google Photos). No need to empty the trash.
I then manually sync the device's gallery, and check if OneDrive trashed the photos I deleted as well. Then under a better connection I turned on Gallery Sync on all my devices to sync again. No locally stored photos got deleted, and the tablet got to fully load the online gallery this time.
Next time I should use an SD Card for the backup part though. But this gray tick cloud should have an option to try syncing again next time. To add, before the beginning of this post, I did try pressing the manual sync in the settings, but the unavailable photos never went away, even after an app restart with a recently cleared app cache.
