Here are some additional tips.
Samsung would like to raise awareness about the variety of ways in which unauthorized third parties represent themselves as being authorized by Samsung in an attempt to obtain your personal information or exploit you for financial gain. Generally, consumers should be vigilant when dealing with third parties via email, the internet (including social media), telephone, postal mail, and SMS. Here are some guidelines to assist you in protecting yourself against text scams.
Step 1. Block unknown numbers and spam messages.
You can block an unknown sender with these easy steps:
Long press the message, then press the three dots where you will be presented with an option to BLOCK. Then tick Report Spam and press OK.
Step 2. Activate the Android Messages app because it detects spam messages.
Set your default messaging with these easy steps:
Long press your Android Messages app and press the information logo at the top right corner. Press the messaging app and choose the Android Messages icon.
Step 3. Immediately delete spam messages and do not engage.
When a spam message is received, do not open or reply to messages from an unknown sender. Replying will inform the other party that your number is active.
