You might go to Settings > Apps > Select the app you select (Depending the application you install) and Click Storage > Storage used and click "SD Card". If not, The App isn't supported to move apps from them.

Transfering all your files using My Files instead. I have my Mom's J2 Prime last year I've put all the files into SD Card using My Files on it last month.

Try opening Settings then Apps from the list of apps tap one you want to move and then tap storage;

If it can be moved the option to move it will be shown as not all apps can be.

Any apps that you use a widget with should not be moved as widgets do not work for apps that are on an SD card. Also any app that updates will move back to the SD card after they update there is nothing you can do to stop this happening an SD card default write speed is to slow for Google to update them on the SD card so they end up back in internal storage were they really are happier.

If you made up your mind, just be careful of doing such thing.

I don't recommend for that if the internal storage is adequately large (around 128 GB internal storage). Some apps support that, some apps dont.

Also, I suggest to use an SD card with at least an Application Performance Class 1 (A1) on it.
