Samsung has reportedly paused the rollout of its One UI 7.0 update after a critical bug was discovered in the stable build released for the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea. The update, which began rolling out on April 7, is based on Android 15 and brought a host of improvements to animations, system performance, and overall UI experience. However, things haven’t gone entirely smoothly.

Serious bug causes unexpected halt in One UI 7 rollout; According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the One UI 7.0 firmware pushed to Korean Galaxy S24 users included a bug that caused unlocking issues in certain scenarios—a pretty serious flaw for daily usage. This prompted Samsung to immediately review the firmware and pause the rollout to prevent it from affecting users in other regions.

While Samsung has not issued an official statement regarding the pause or the bug itself, signs of the delay are clearly visible. According to SamMobile, Samsung’s servers in Korea and Europe have stopped hosting One UI 7.0 firmware files for the Galaxy S24 and S24+, although S24 Ultra files are still available. Interestingly, these firmwares are still live on US servers, suggesting that the issue may be region- or chipset-specific.

Rollout halted just as One UI 7 global expansion was underway; One UI 7.0 had just started expanding beyond South Korea. After reaching Europe and North America, the update was supposed to hit major Asian markets, including India and Vietnam, starting April 14. However, with this unexpected issue, those plans could now be delayed.

Samsung began testing One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series in December 2024, with several beta builds being pushed out over the months. The stable release finally arrived on April 7, only to hit a snag days later due to this bug.

The company was reportedly gearing up for a broader rollout across its flagship devices— including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold/Flip 6 and and tablets — throughout April, with mid-range models to follow in May and June. But depending on the severity of the issue, Samsung might rework the firmware before resuming the rollout, potentially pushing the update timeline further.

At this point, it’s unclear how quickly Samsung can fix the issue and resume the rollout. If the bug is limited to Korean units and specific hardware combinations, we might see a targeted fix. Otherwise, a delay in all planned rollouts seems likely.

We’ll continue monitoring the situation and share updates as soon as Samsung confirms the next steps. In the meantime, if you’re a Galaxy S24 user, it’s best to hold off on manual firmware updates until this problem is resolved.

That definitely sheds light on why many users haven’t received the One UI 7 update yet.

It’s unfortunate, but understandable that Samsung paused the rollout after such a critical bug, especially one affecting device unlocking. Better safe than sorry, since stability and security are crucial for daily use.

For now, it’s wise for Galaxy S24 users — especially in Asia — to wait for the revised firmware. Let’s hope Samsung addresses the issue quickly and resumes the update with a more stable build soon.

We’ll keep an eye out for official updates too — fingers crossed for a smooth fix and rollout! 🤞📱

Bought their flagship phone and sure enough, got the flagship experience—one delay after another. It's like Samsung is just playing us for fools. They've been testing for months and still messed it up. Hard to believe this is coming from a so-called tech giant.

Totally get your frustration — when you invest in a flagship, you expect top-tier performance *and* reliability. It's disappointing when months of testing still lead to issues like this. Samsung really needs to step up and show that they value their users' trust, especially for premium devices. Let's hope they fix it fast and get back to delivering the experience people paid for.
