I was actually talking to friends about how the #HideCameraCutout option disappeared without a trace when they updated their S20 series phones especially my friend in Indonesia who got the update already on his S20+ and my friend here in the Philippines who already got the update on his S20 Ultra 5G both via December 1, 2020 patch level update. I just receive the December 1, 2020 update and I have mixed feelings about it. First I'm sad because I haven't got the update to #OneUI3 yet because it's just another patch level with no major upgrades. But on the flip side I am actually happy because I haven't lose the #HideCameraCutout settings just yet. Honestly, if I can suggest to Samsung one thing on their next patch level updates for #OneUI3 I hope they can add the #HideCameraCutout functionality/settings back to the Display Settings.
I'm sure it is very useful for many people not just me. Also if I could add up another suggestion I would suggest that they add some customization features on it where we can customize where do we want to #HideCameraCutout
These are as follows:
1. Always #HideCameraCutout
(This will hide the camera cutout on both #PortraitMode and #LandscapeMode giving you an undistracting screen experience with NO CAMERA CUTOUTS marring the display experience).
2. #HideCameraCutout on #LandscapeMode ONLY
(Good for undistracting video streaming on #LandscapeMode. E.G. YouTube, Netflix etc.)
3. #HideCameraCutout on #PortraitMode ONLY
(Good for those apps that opens on Portrait Mode which doesn't support the entire aspect ratio of your device. E.G. Banking & Financial Apps, Portrait Mode games etc)
4. Never #HideCameraCutout
(Full Screen Display with #CameraCutout being always visible on both Portrait & Landscape Mode)
I hope Samsung can take this suggestion of mine into consideration on their next #OneUI3 updates for I can be really sure that many people uses this feature apart from myself and it's indeed a useful feature instead of the existing non-sensical Full Screen Apps option on their Display Settings. And I always think that downloading 3rd party apps in the Play Store is an okay option but should never be the solution as a whole for this kinds of problems/dilemmas.
P.S: I hope more people sees this post and likes this.
