I'm resetting this thread because apparently I didn't spell out the issue. And as a result had a lot of clueless people responding, whether off topic, or with strictly annoying nonsense.
3rd party launchers with the new gesture system do not work currently. It's an issue with task view and it has been 100% on Google to implement the initial fix, 3rd party launchers have no control over this. For a couple months we were SOL. About a week ago, we got word that the Pixel 4 had an undocumented fix that allowed the new gestures to work with 3rd party launchers.
I'm assuming that Google has relayed this fix with OEMs so that they can either implement it themselves with the Android 10 builds they're developing on, or they've sent that version with the fix live already.
I was wondering if anyone had heard anything from Samsung, or support, on when this issue would be fixed for One UI 2.0. I was hoping the last beta would fix it. But to no avail. Haven't seen any mention of it here on the forums, and haven't seen it picking up traction on any threads either. Thanks in advance
I really would like to know about this as well? Does anyone have any information about when or if this fix will be implemented? really miss using NOVA Launcher and I dont wanna give up using full screen gestures
This could be in the next beta release. Since beta 2 was released this past Friday, there's at least 2 weeks until beta 3 is released. But it's possible the fix won't be included with beta 3.
It will be up to the 3rd party devs to implement the fix for their respective launchers. Chances are fixes/new launcher versions won't be released until Android 10 final is released. If you can, register as a beta tester for the launcher on the Play Store.
Again, as I said in the post, the fix cannot be implemented by the Launcher devs period. There's nothing they can do about it. When the fix went live on pixel 4 it required no update from 3rd party devs at all. They just worked again
I wonder what third-party launchers most of you guys who complain about this are using because I've been using Nova Launcher for years and years and even though Nova Launcher States not the new gestures won't necessarily work with third-party launchers and that it's Google's fault no one else's they need to implement the fix I personally have never had an issue I also don't use that single swipe up iPhone esque garbage gesture either I only use the three down at the bottom the original from Android Pie not this new garbage iPhone wannabe crap they're adding on Android 10. Nova Launcher has never giving me problems and has once again saved me from the horrible issues that most bettas tend to incur
Bro, I didn't ask for your opinion on the new gestures. I don't give a single flying **bleep** what your opinion on the new gestures is. I asked when the fix for the issue will be live. Learn when your feedback is meaningful and welcome, and when it's just useless garble that no one cares about.
The gestures are fine, and the animations that are tied to them are beautiful. After a day of using them I don't want to go back to the 3 button swipe gestures. maybe you don't feel the same. I don't care. I didn't ask
