Blue dot on contacts

Certain contacts in my phone have this small blue dot, whilst others dont.

I cant seem to find a definitive answer online as to what it is...only speculation. 

Any actual answer as to what it means?

is for those who have the chat feature.

so when you text them your texts with them will look sightly different kinda like when iPhone users text other iPhone users vs an iPhone users texts with an Android user. I personally wish all my texts were like those who have the chat feature

the chats look no different to me? they all look and act the same

the dot is to indicate who else has a Samsung

not so...because almost all my contacts are samsung users, however only 4 of my contacts have that dot

Chuck, the dot means the person is sharing their Samsung contact info

The blue dot is the Samsung RCS. Not all Samsung phones dont have this feature yet, mostly new models only
