Linking my S10+ to Windows 10 didn't work well with the Microsoft Companion App downloaded from the Play Store but in the Q beta the Microsoft app comes pre-installed as a system app and the Link to Computer function is part of the phone settings. It works much better--hopefully Samsung won't change their minds and remove this feature when stable Q rolls out.
I tried it for a short while but I only used it for messages and my sms app already does that so I disabled it for now. I was getting a lot of error messages while trying it and it seemed to drain the battery more. I sent feedback on it before I disabled it
