phone is working brand new after factory reset

Resetting your phone does not get rid of beta. You have to connect to a computer or go to a Samsung store.

resetting your phone does not remove you from beta, either you have to go to notices and press "withdraw" or go to smart switch to rollback to the pie version

unlocked from sammy, using at&t, 10+

No issues now that I've fixed 3-4 minor glitches. Additionally, I may have fixed the "using more battery" issue. I changed a number of settings that apparently reset to default upon installation of the beta.

However, I'll assume some battery drain because the OS is not fully tweaked yet.

Otherwise, it is now running smooth, no new glitches ... admittedly, I've yet to fully exercise the 10+, so might find something else.
