So, I've seen a lot of posts everywhere about how Google has RCS with their messaging app, but I checked Samsung's, and it seems like they also have RCS, but people are saying they don't yet.

Does this mean the default messaging app, Samsung Messages, already has RCS? People are saying it doesn't yet, but I'm not sure anymore.

RCS is enabled by default in Samsung Messages app but it is still carrier dependent. This means that you can only use RCS with someone else who has a Galaxy on the same carrier as you.

In Android Messages (the Google one), it is being rolled out to ALL users as long as they have that specific app.

I do believe that Sprint has Universal Profile (the same thing that Google has) but the other carriers don't which is why you're seeing all those options and none of us are seeing it. That is also why if you were to text a non-sprint Android user, it'd be an SMS not RCS.

If you would like RCS support, I would suggest getting Android Messages for yourself and persuading your friends to get it until Samsung rolls it our or until US carriers roll it out later next year
