Why does swiping back/away from keyboard with full screen gestures on cause you to swipe out random words before backing out?

Like if you're typing a text for example and then swipe back to home screen or recents it'll swipe/type words before closing it out leaving you with a draft message.

I've always used full screen guestures since they've been out and this was never a problem before the beta so I'm not exactly sure why this is a problem now.

Anyone else have this problem with full screen guestures?

I'm having the same issue. After the update there's a black bar at the bottom, I go to the settings and unhide then re-hide the gesture hints to get it to disappear. it looks fine after that but I always swipe a word when doing back/home/recents with the keyboard up. I'm using gboard

You're supposed to press the down arrow below the enter button on the keyboard to go back. When I first updated to the beta I swear it asked me if I wanted to allow swipes from the side while on the keyboard screen and I said no because I knew that I would accidentally type stuff. I think there's a way in the settings for you to find it most likely but maybe not. Either way, like I said, just tap on the downward pointing arrow instead of swiping from the side like you would if you had an browser page open or something.

That's just a feature to hide the keyboard. I shouldn't have to use that before using the back or home screen gesture, that would make one simple step now two steps. I never used show button to hide keyboard before the beta and it's never typed while using the back or home gestures with the keyboard up this is some kind of bug with the beta.

I'm not using the swipe from the side gestures just the swipe from the bottom and it still does it.

I'm using the three lane swipe gestures from Samsung as well and I have no problems with swiping in either lane while the keyboard is open. While using Android 10's new swipe gestures I had to press the downward arrow before going back when swiping from the right side. I could always swipe above the keyboard too I suppose. I guess I'm not sure what your issue is or how you could be running in to troubles cause I'm having zero issues. This is what my keyboard currently looks like.

it doesn't do it with Samsung keyboard that's why. I'm using Gboard and it types when you try to swipe out/away from the keyboard.

I'm not sure what you're saying. I do use swipe to text however it never use to type words while using the back or home gesture with the keyboard up before the beta.
