it's still available but you must have gesture hint enabled I believe there's a new gesture as well for doing that but I haven't had enough time to mess around with it to find it about to start trying to figure out the new stuff out I'll let you know if I find it

I had to turn on the navigation hint to get it to work.

you don't need to use gesture hints. it's just really similar to how iPhones switch between apps
