Why can't we mute a call?

Okay. This is an issue not from the beta but I would like to take some time to bring this issue up. Maybe the developers can fix it with the next stable One Ui 2 update.

When we make a call, some of us would like to mute the call before the recipient picks up the call. But it seems there is no option to do such and the alternative is to wait for the exact moment for the call to get received and then mute. It's such a simple and dumb annoyance which could easily be fixed.

Please try clearing the system cache and rebooting your device.

If issue persists, please send us an error report with screenshots from One UI Beta App (Beta Feedback -> Send feedback-> Error Reports -> "Select Category" -> Input frequency and Description" -> Send (Top Right Icon). We appreciate your help for supporting beta program.

No this is not a bug. I cannot mute the call before the recipient receives the call.
