Why do I not have a clock in notification bar?

I am seeing posts about some people having time in upper left corner and some like me it have "Sprint" I would much rather have clock than Sprint but I wonder why some have it and some don't?

Is it a carrier thing? TMobile has clock and Sprint has "Sprint?

Ok so I just noticed when I took a screenshot to post now the clock is there when I have a notification? Is that how it's gonna work?
