Samsung Care+And yes I don't wanna spend hundreds more it's just that the reason I bought this new phone is because of the green line appearing on my S9+ (months later purple and pink lines started appearing). Got me traumatized not gonna lie. Your assurance gave me hope tho 😅

Samsung Care+yes, both are samsung phones. s24 with 2 year samsung care + bought from samsung as there was better deal ( trade in value).
a25 via harvey norman, 1 year standard samsung warranty + 3 years harvey norman warranty. As the device price is less than 1.5k , it's a straight 1 to 1 swap.
reason i went with this is because of past experience:
I owned a s21 Fe. just past a year, ( 15 months actually) green lines start to appear. and since not under warranty, the cost for repair is Rm800. Samsung wont accept it as a trade in citing damaged screen equals to zero value.
I owned a z flip 4. last year, luckily within the warranty period it developed the dreaded dead phone when closed. This year, luckily i had 2 year samsung care + it happened again so was repaired under warranty. I cant imagine if it dies again in year 3 so i quickly disposed of it.
at the same time, my tab s8 is also starting with a white line - you guessed it,.. just passed the 1 year mark.
some may ask, with all the issues why i still buy samsung. well, the reason is at least the resale value is there ( can trade back to samsung) and availability of samsung support centres.
i own a flagship ROG phone before - which did not even get a software update, and no easy access to support. so amongst the other brands, at least i can get parts/support/accessories much easier for samsung.

Samsung Care+Thing is with phones it is more about luck really. At least with Samsung. I have been using S9+ since 2018 that's a good 6 to 7 years without no issue up until the green line. My best friend uses the same phone as me bought just a month or two later and she has no display or any issue for that matter and still using it. All her previous smartphones are Samsung and she said they all still work. Her dad has been using the Z Flip 4 since its released and he has dropped it on the floor several times and no display or other issue so far. My 2011 Samsung Plus still can function.
I take it that you prefer Android and more specifically Samsung even with all the issues you have dealt with. I sympathize with you. That's a lot of money down the drain and a headache to deal with. Hate to even ask this but have you ever used an IPhone? Just wondering how they fair if you have any personal experience. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Samsung Care+As i know, Harvey has up to 4 years coverage. The warranty is transferrable as well and is an international coverage.
cost wise, harvey warranty is cheaper. i paid RM316 for 3 years extra warranty on my a25.
And yea i wholeheartly agree about electronic devices on luck. I have older phones (a30s, and an 8 year old Tab A6 that still works flawlessly).
About the subject of iOS yes i have used them before - had a ipod and a tablet. both still work but are very sluggish. i find i get quite confused with how iOS layout is, hence also why i shy away from other android makes especially the china ones. The UI can be quite complicated with too many elements and stuff. haha.
however, i devices, as they are popular tend to retain their value quite well. So even if you dont buy new.. you can always get a fairly good pre owned one as well.

Samsung Care+So iOS does lag was it more of an old/older version thing. I mean they did get in trouble and had since admitted to purposely slowing down their older phones. I love Android and its customization and I'm so used to Samsung ones. Android back then was just not good after a while it can be very laggy (partly because I installed anything and everything to further customize my phone lol). That's the reason I changed to a Windows phone back in 2013. The difference was night and day. The phone never lag or hang once in the 5 years I used it. I like it a lot with how simple and smooth everything was. It was so minimalist maybe that's why.
iOS is the only i haven't used and I kinda thought to myself that after my S9+, that would be the time i finally try one. I had experienced other OS wanna try them at least once. But I just couldn't let go lol and having navigate my family's iPhone just a bit, I know I would hate their UI. No back feature and having no 3 navigation buttons at the bottom like we do gonna drive me mad. Oh well maybe next time. But yeah one thing good about iPhone is their value.

Samsung Care+Hi @skentil,
Personally, I own multiple devices (multiple brands and types, candybar and foldables) over the years and never had issues (thankfully!) apart from that a screen crack due to dropping on the tar road (learned the hard way - get a good solid case!)
The primary difference between the two is that Samsung Care+ is an "insurance plan" for your device covering accidental damage (screen cracks/water damage) - whereas the standard manufacturers' warranty covers defects.
Personal preference here - but if you use your phones w/o cases, then it's a solid yes. If you're like myself (case + screen protector from day 1) then there should be minimal issues.
Hope this helps!
