I really love this whole new swipe up to close apps gesture thing but I think that fact that it isnt there when you're on the home screen loses a couple usability points because if you didnt know about the feature you wouldnt know what to do from the home screen. I recommend making the bar a little longer and more importantly making it appear on the home screen. Also, I feel like the bar should go up with the app when you close them. It feels unnatural to see the app go up and the bar stay there when you close apps.
