New split screen menu shouldn't come from the bottom

In Android 9 when you tap the icon on top of the card preview the list of options would appear right under the icon you just tapped. Now the options come up from the very bottom in a giant menu popup. Imo this feels less integrated and less aesthetically pleasing.

One of the nice focus of OneUI is one handed reachability for ease of access. It is slightly against standard convention, but it is consistent with their design approach.

I think they changed it to make it easier for one handed use, but having to click the icon on top defeats the purpose lol

So, maybe they should add the app icon / menu to the bottom of the app preview for easier one handed access....?

Hey there. I believe this is for one handed usability. It works great. Doesn't make sense is that the app icons are above and not one hand use friendly.

wouldn't it be easier and more one handed if the menu you were trying to access was closer to the access point? ie click on all icon center of screen, menu at center of screen. either that or put the icon on the bottom or middle of thumbnail

I think it'll be better/easier to access it by holding the tab and the menu appears
