The smaller notifications are nice, but a suggestion would be maybe just an icon of the app and then show the name of the person that sent you the message. Example would be if you get a message from snapchat. The bubble will show the icon of the app that it's coming from like in this case snapchat, and then the name of the person that is sending you the message so that way we are aware from what app its coming from. Or even change the color of the bubble to match the app that you are getting the notification from.
I agree, would be nice to have customizability for lock screen notifications. Let the user decide what's shown on lock screen, and how much info as well...
