As reported here time and again, we all would like to see Samsung allow side swiping between open screens while Gesture Hints are turned off.

Until and if that ever happens, the quickest most intuitive and reliable way to do so is by slightly swiping up & down quickly and in one motion (that will stick the screen to your thumb) and then swiping sideways.

This method works best with Haptic Feedback enabled as it provides for a good way to realize the timing and execute the motion accordingly.

Happy tinkering!

Good news everyone! It seems like this was addressed in the stable version released in Germany and reported to be working properly on a US device:

There are many Reddit reports that contradict the notion that this was indeed addressed with the stable version.....I guess we will never know that status of this inquiry until we receive the stable version.

In looking further into this matter I realized that though it would be nice to be able to swipe between open screens / apps while Gesture Hints are turned Off, Samsung already allow to do this with Gesture Hints turned On and the only reason this configuration is bothersome is because some apps do not support the two color options Samsung make available to the hinted navigation bar, one of which is AMOLED Dark Mode. Unsupported apps cause the navigation bar to stick out like a sore thumb while supported app render quite nicely....that being said, given all apps support standard Android triple key navigation style they are all designed to allow a transparent overlay out of the box and therefore the same issue does not apply in this configuration.

This might be in fact Samsung's way of dealing with unsupported apps and it comes at the cost of disabled open screen / app navigation as it conflicts with actions some apps position at the bottom.

Pixel devices does not even allow to hide Gesture Hints and I wonder if unsupported apps cause the same issue....?

If anyone have other observations or find my thesis inaccurate, by all means, share your thoughts!
