Do you have any feedbacks with this feature?

I have tried using this and it limits the charge up to 85% only and when the charge reaches 85% the battery won't charge anymore even if the charger is still plugged in so the battery goes lower after reaching 85%

It's a bit unconvenient or a bit feeling of unusual for me that my phone won't go up to 100% especially when I go outside the house or go somewhere else where I can't access charging stations, but it says it really helps the battery to last longer.

So would you use this feature in order to save your battery's lifepsan? Or would you rather choose to charge or use your battery on a normal basis without battery protection enabled?

I have practiced and maintained charging my phone up to 80% most of the time before having this feature, so having it built-in and not having to be conscious about it charging above my limit is just lifesaving.

Aren't you worried that you aren't getting 100% battery when leaving your house and going to a place where you can't charge your phone?

I guess bringing a powerbank with you all the time might seem a bit heavy and unconvenient

My phone lasts me the whole day even with it being only charged to 85%. I'm not bringing any powerbanks at all. Perks of having a phone with a 5000mAh battery, I guess. 😉

Hmm, do you use Mobile data or just using a pocket or portable WiFi with you when you are outside? Mobile data also consumes battery fast especially when personal hotspot is turned on

It's a combination of both, actually. I don't share my hotspot.

I think what it meant by "battery protection" to make it "last longer" is it's effect long term. Like when we overcharge our gadgets, sometimes when we forget to unplug it when it's already fully charged, it kinda damages the battery over time. Like at the start the full battery may last 2 days, but over time the same full battery will only last for less than a day na lang (because it is damaged by overcharging)

So I think that's the aim of Samsung "battery protection". It may not be as long-lasting as the 100%, but in the long run, your phone will maintain its good battery usage

I thought modern smartphones will automatically stop charging when it is full? Is overcharging still an issue for the modern smartphones nowadays?
