SupportFinally my pre-oder was delivered.
Didn't want to just disappear here after my last couple of post so I'll just drop here my experience.
My order was tagged for delivery later than usual today, around 10:30am. I kinda already accepted that it won't be delivered today.
The rider called me around 3:25 pm to inform me that he was on the way to my address. It was such a good timing since I was just in couple of meetings for the past 3hrs. Went down from my place to meet the rider. It took a bit of time for the rider to get the unit from the packages he had.
After a couple of minutes, he was finally able to get the package and we started the process. He check my unit for trade-in and everything was fine except for a failing test on the speakers. I was taken aback on this because I did a lot of checking using the diagnostic option on the samsung members app and there was no issue. He told me that he cannot have it passed on his sheet since it was not working. We had a bit of discussion because I had proof that the tests were working (note: they are using a different tool to test). He sent the updates/pics/vids to the evaluator. While waiting for the response, I told him that is was okay for me to tag it as failed but I will file a dispute with samsung on that. I did clarify that it was not against him but because it was very clear that there was no issue. He also agreed that it was working on the samsung members diagnostic since he was able to hear the sounds coming from the speakers. After about 20mins of discussion and recording my phone with speakers on max volume, it was only then that the evaluator responded. It took another 20~30 mins of exchanges (there were a lot of instances were the evaluator took a lot of time before responding). At the very end they seemed to agreed that there was no actually issue on my phone and finally accepted it for trade-in.
In the next 25 mins, I was able to finish the following:
- Checking the new unit
- transfer of data from old phone (just accounts and some important apps)
- factory reset and handover of the old unit
- signing of papers
Overall it was not a bad experience, but if the evaluator just responded quickly to the rider we would have finished the trade-in evaluation in around 20mins instead of the 40mins it took us. Total time it took us was around 60 to 70 mins.
Note: as per rider the time limit for the backup only starts once the trade-in is accepted.
Other takeaways:
- found out the the riders also has other deliveries aside from the samsung units they deliver.
- there is a cut-off time for the evaluators
- rider confirmed that there were instances were phone backup took around 2~4 hours to finish.
- not sure if my unit was really scheduled for today or maybe it was because I left 2 emails to samsung support over the weekend due the failed delivery last Friday and yesterdey(Sunday)
TLDR;
I received my pre-oder S24 Ultra. The experience with the rider and trade-in was kinda okay.
My experience today will not and should not invalidate all my previous post since the frustration of not knowing when and the possible conflicts with schedule of the delivery (because of the trade-in) had me stressed out. Samsung shop tracking, consegnia tracking, and even samsung support were of no help at all.

Supportthis is my thoughts too. Better to go to the Store since it can be discussed on when you can actually go and pick-up the unit. though you still need to wait, but you don't need to be bothered on the actual time when your order will arrive at the store.

SupportHi may I ask what tests did they do to your previous smartphone?
