SupportProtect your personal data when handing over your Galaxy for repairs by enabling maintenance mode.
Why use it:
● Hides your photos, messages, contacts, call logs, and accounts—all inaccessible during service.
● Only pre-installed apps are usable; downloaded apps are removed after exit.
How to activate:
1. Go to Settings → Battery & device care → Maintenance mode
2. Tap "Turn on," and you can choose to include a system log for diagnostics
3. Your phone restarts into maintenance mode—fully isolated yet functional
How to deactivate:
● Swipe down on the notification panel and tap "Exit," or go through Settings → Maintenance mode → Exit, then enter your PIN/password and restart.
Before activating:
● Back up your data (via Samsung Cloud or Smart Switch), as some repairs may require resets
● Ensure enough free storage: around 1.5 GB for phones with 64 GB storage or less, or 500 MB for higher-capacity models
Pro Tip:
While maintenance mode helps protect your data, some service centers may still reset your device for diagnostics. Always confirm with the service team beforehand.
Why it matters:
● Keeps your data private during repair
● Encrypts your info and blocks unauthorized access
● Easy to turn on and off without affecting your files
