Remote Unlock via SmartThings Find

Saw this post on Facebook.

OP asking if there's a way to bypass the lockscreen without resetting the device. OP got locked out of their phone with 19 hours wait time to try again. Someone commented to unlock it via SmartThings find. OP then replied that they tried but there's no option. The commenter then said that they might not have enabled it on their phone.

I've got curious if I have mine enabled.

Here's how:

1. From Settings, go to your Samsung account

2. Go to Find My Mobile

3. Enable Remote Unlock

That post is odd. Everyone is using biometric such as fingerprint sensor so he can't be locked out unless he's trying to bypass the security of someone's device.

Good point. From my experience on the other hand, there were instances where fingerprint won't work and it's prompting me to enter my passcode. I noticed that this is happening when I'm holding my phone (screen facing my palm.) It seems like the sensor are trying to scan my palm. But yeah. It really is suspicious.

actually this has happened to me I thought I lost my phone and locked it in smart things BUT I found it AND unfortunately it was just at the same moment when i got the message that for security reasons we ask for PIN input instead of biometrics. now I don't actually recall my pin since i JUST got this new phone I assumed would be the default but apparently it is not! So I am now locked out of my phone.  Wondering if there is a way  to still unlock if you did not  click the remote unlock on and not have to do a factory reset 😢

Not necessarily,  biometrics will not work once the phone is restarted. You must enter the pin you created as back up.
