The issue on my phone is when I try to unlock it, it stays on AOD even I'm pressing the power button multiple times. It happens every time, I already tried rebooting my phone, also updated on latest version but this still happens most of the time.

Hello Niccco,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the recent updates on your Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G having issues with the unlocking screen, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

I feel and understand it. I have expected that my device will be better after an update, but if it turns that other thing around, then I will be bothered too.

But don't fret; we are here to guide, assist, and offer solutions to restore your device to optimum performance.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 4. Restart your device.

Since your Samsung Galaxy phone holds all your important information, make sure to protect it and keep things private. A great way to increase the security on your phone is by setting up a screen lock. You can use a few different screen lock types, such as fingerprint identification, face recognition, pattern, or password. This way, no one else will be able to access your device.

Set up a basic phone lock screen.

To ensure your Galaxy phone's security, you can set up a phone lock to use a password, PIN, or pattern. That way, even if someone gets their hands on your phone, they won't be able to access it.

From Settings, swipe to and tap Security and privacy, then tap Lock screen, and then tap Screen lock. Select your desired type of lock. Follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.

Here are the basic Screen lock types:

  • PIN: Select a PIN to unlock the screen.

  • Password: Create a password for unlocking the screen.

  • Pattern: Create a pattern that you draw on the screen to unlock.

  • Swipe: Swipe the screen to unlock it.

  • None: No screen lock.

Set up a Biometric security phone lock.

You can also set up Biometric security so you can unlock your Galaxy phone with your face, your fingerprints, or even your eyes!

    1. From Settings, swipe to and tap Security and privacy.

    2. Tap Biometrics. Select your desired type of phone lock, such as Fingerprints, and then follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.

Here is a basic rundown of the available biometric options:

      • Face recognition: Use Facial recognition to unlock your phone.

      • Fingerprints: Use fingerprint recognition to unlock the screen.

        3. Once you've set up a biometric security feature, make sure that you have it set on your Lock screen. For example, you need to have Fingerprint unlock activated if you want to unlock your phone with your fingerprints. To do so, just tap your desired biometric feature, and make sure the appropriate switch (i.e. Fingerprint unlock, Face unlock) is turned on.

Check and adjust your AOD's display options and settings.

From Settings, search for and select Always On Display, and then tap Always On Display. From this screen, you can adjust AOD's new features.

  • Tap to show: This is the default setting. When it's activated, you must tap the screen to make your AOD appear for 10 seconds. This setting will help conserve battery.

  • Show always: This setting will display AOD continuously whenever your phone screen is off. Use this setting if you don't want to tap anything to see your AOD. Keep in mind that this setting will use more battery power.

  • Show as scheduled: This setting shows your AOD based on a set schedule. Use this setting if you want AOD to display at certain times. For example, you can set your AOD to only display during your work day and turn off while you're asleep. This setting will reduce AOD's battery consumption.

  • Show for new notifications: This setting will show AOD when you receive a new notification.

  • Clock style: You can customize the clock type and color.

  • Show music information: Use this setting to show music information on your screen when it's off. This is useful because you'll see the artist and track information of a song without having to unlock your phone.

  • Screen orientation: Choose between Portrait mode and Landscape mode.

  • Auto brightness: This setting is on by default and automatically adjusts the brightness level of your AOD. To manually control the brightness level, tap the switch next to Auto brightness to turn it off. Then, adjust the slider to set your desired brightness level. Alternatively, you can double tap the clock when your AOD displays, and then adjust the brightness level there.

Note: AOD is turned on by default, but if it has been disabled, you will need to turn it on to access its settings. AOD is not available when a Power saving mode is turned on. You may need to turned off the Power Saving mode.

Clear Cache Wipe Partition.

Step 1.  Turn off the device. (Connect with type C cable)
Step 2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the power button.
Step 3. When the Android logo displays, release all keys.
Step 4. Press the Volume down key to navigate and select "Wipe cache partition".
Step 5. Press Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Select Reboot System.
Step 6. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Settings/System".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
