Earlier, after I charge my Samsung Galaxy A50, it was stuck on the boot screen when I turn it on. I tried to force restart my device but still it was stuck on the boot screen. How can I fix this?

Hey there, Rhenzho! Please do try the following troubleshooting steps below:

- Second solution: Try running the phone in safe mode

It is also possible that some third-party applications caused this problem. So if the first solution failed, this is the next thing you need to do. This will temporarily disable all your third-party applications or those that you downloaded and installed from the Play Store. If one of those apps or some of them is causing the phone to get stuck on the boot screen, then it should be able to successfully boot into the home screen if you did this. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Power key until options show.
  2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode.
  3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
  4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see "Safe mode" at the lower-left corner of the screen.

Assuming that your phone successfully started in this mode, then here’s what you should do next:

  1. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone got stuck on the boot screen.
  2. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  3. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  4. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  5. Find and tap the suspected app.
  6. Tap Storage.
  7. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  8. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall.
  9. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.

On the other hand, if your phone is still stuck on the boot screen even if you’re trying to start it up in safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

- Third solution: Try starting the phone up in recovery mode

Even if this problem is due to a serious firmware issue, for as long as the firmware has not been modified, you should still be able to run the phone in recovery mode, because it is the fail-safe of almost all Android devices. If you could successfully start your phone in recovery mode, the first thing you have to do is to wipe the cache partition. This is how you start your phone in recovery mode and wipe the cache partition:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A50 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A50 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight the wipe cache partition.
  6. Press the Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them, and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, the Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If you were able to successfully start the phone in recovery mode but still get stuck on the boot screen even after wiping the cache partition, then a master reset will be done. This will delete all your files and data, especially the ones that are stored in your phone's internal storage but it has a higher probability of fixing this problem. Just remember the Google account that’s used on your device so that you won’t be locked out. When ready, follow these steps to restart your phone in recovery mode and do the master reset:

  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "wipe data/factory reset".
  6. Press the Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press the Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, "Reboot system now" is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
