..my tab is always updated to the latest OS & security updates including the apps..i make sure of that..& the battery doesn't get lower than 25%..but i do use it a lot daily with multiple apps open because it's been my super productivity tool as it should be since it's been advertised as such & i bought it for that very purpose..

..pahelp po..i think i just experienced the "black screen of death" for my Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G
 | SM-X806BZABXTC | RAM/ROM: 8GB/256GB | Single SIM i bought from the official Samsung website last July 26, 2022😭😭😭..
..i was just working on something in the night shift on my duty post last Sep. 10, in a small makeshift barracks, on a rooftop, when a sudden heavy rain occured around 02:00am, Sep. 11😱..
..to make the story short, the small barracks wasn't able to protect me & my things from the heavy rain & everything got wet including my laptop & some other gadgets..fortunately all survived just by wiping off all the moisture EXCEPT my Galaxy Tab S8+ which i can't seem to make the screen work anymore..although i'm pretty sure the device is open because i can hear the notification sounds & vibrations..the screen just doesn't work & stays black..i Googled & tried different solutions to wake it up but haven't succeeded yet..so far i tried the force restart by simultaneously pressing the power button & volume down button which initially worked for a few seconds then the screen turned black again..i tried force restart twice after that but the screen turning on while restarting got shorter until the force restart doesn't turn on my screen anymore..so i just decided to post this concern here hoping anyone can help me on this pleaseπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™..

Hello N0N0K,

Thanks for reaching out to us in order to find out about gaining solution(s) to  restore your Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G into full working optimum condition. I feel you that you've cared  so much for your device, trying out several attempts and methods to have it working again but to no avail. If my device has similar exposure at the rooftop and got accidentally soaked due to heavy downpour, I will be more bothered too.

First, you need to stop whatever you doing on your Tab S8+ to avoid electric shock and further damages to it. I highly recommend bringing it to the nearest Samsung Authorized Service Center in your area. So our Team of Samsung experts consist of engineers and technician can assess and diagnose your device. Rest assured that any result or findings will be relayed to you prior repair or restoration.

Probably its water damage, better bring to Samsung service center for them to check.

..yeah..i think it triggered it..but if i remember it correctly, the display seems to be turning off suddenly even before the rain πŸ€”..it happened just very recently..i think after i tweaked the home ui in the good lock app and the settings..i noticed the display will suddenly turn off if i open a link in socmed, or i load my three-app split screens from the edge panel etc..the rain incident is a little weird for me since this is not the 1st time the same tablet got accidentally wet..there was even one time it got splashed with salty water..& i actually praised it for surviving those without even any observable effect..of course i always immediately wipe off the moisture whenever that happens..same with the rain incident..

Hi N0N0K,

Would love to hear an update about this - have you taken your device to a Samsung Service Center yet?

..i can't at the moment since i'm currently rendering my 10-day duty as a jail officer which limits me from leaving my post while on duty..i will bring it to the Samsung Service Center during my off-duty days..

Copy that. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do to diagnose your issue online. Hope you find the time soon!

Alternatively - you can try dunking your tablet in uncooked rice to help absorb some of the moisture that might still be causing your device issues. I can't guarantee that this will help (or if it'll work at all) but I have done this same fix for a BSoD'd phone... and it worked.

Let me know if you've got other questions, I'll be happy to help.
