TabletsLast August, Samsung announced that it will provide three generations of Android OS upgrades to every flagship device launched with Android 9 Pie or later. At the same time, the company shared a list of eligible Galaxy phones, which included select Galaxy A phones as well as premium Galaxy tablets.
However, this information had already revealed by Samsung at the time of Galaxy Tab Active 3’s launch, but it has come to light when a Korean user reached the company to know about the major Android OS upgrade eligibility of this tablet.
Following this report, our team communicated with Samsung to get further confirmation on this matter. And we now surely confirm that the Galaxy Tab Active 3 and Galaxy XCover Pro rugged smartphone will get three years of Android OS upgrades support. As they were shipped with Android 10-based One UI 2.x, the Android 13/One UI 5 will be the last major update for them.
Samsung said “We strive to provide businesses with the best mobile products and solutions possible. As part of this commitment, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 and the rugged Galaxy XCover Pro smartphone, will support up to three generations of Android OS upgrades.”
