This has been said many times already, but PLEASE factory reset after installing the beta from pie.  This actually does fix quite a few issues.  I have no issues with animations afterwards (not saying they absolutely don't need polishing).  A few other things have smoothed out too, and glitches are less common.

So please, back up and factory reset!

while I agree this might be a good step to help fix issues that are occurring, reporting problems with it I think are vital before doing that. during a upgrade, a reset should not be required and most users won't do it unless Samsung tells them too. it does also cause frustration with users to have to do that.

I reported a few issues beforehand. I'm just stating this fixed some annoying things and will enable testers to see what bugs are actually due to the actual software and not artifacts of the previous installation.

I agree with Sigma on this one... As someone who has background in IT, plus a power user of Mobile devices, majority Samsung, and as a beta tester, files can and sometimes do get left behind from old installations, as new downloads don't always delete files in a particular folder that are no longer needed, etc. It merely overwrites the old folder with a new, new files, etc, and sometimes the residuals cam get left behind, causing app crashes, etc. During a beta, a factory reset is a good idea, because it let's the user start from scratch to see what bugs are in the current OS version, Apk version, etc. without old residuals interfering with the new current files...

I agree also. If you are having issues and factory reset, try running the phone without restoring everything first and see if the problems are still there. Afterwards you can restore all your data and all your apps.

I'll be honest. I restored immediately. Luckily it ended up still fixing some rough spots in the experience.

It's usually a good practice but in this case I didn't. All 150+ of my apps work except for Good Lock and I've had no Android 10 glitches at all so I'm leaving well enough alone until the next update, then we'll see.
