A 5 cent coin size round red patch where it contacts with the sensor of Watch 5pro ?  No feeling of the patch. I wore it overnight last night. And few hours this morning.

Online has some complains of this being a rush or burnt mark that could be a potential law suit?

I think last year, some have experienced burn marks on their wrists from their Watch 4 too.

I see. I skipped Gen 4. Watch 3 was fine.

I have been using Watch 4 for the past 1 year, no burn issue experienced so far. Before getting it, I have heard of this issue. So I set my heart rate monitoring to every 10 mins and stress tracking to manual. This way, the back of the watch won't feel warm to the touch.

Might wanna take note not to wear the watch immediately after taking it off the charger as it can get quite hot!

This I fully agree.. it gets really hot after charged. Will need to take it off the charger and wait for about a few mins before starting to wear again.

Hope the above settings could help to reduce the watch from overheating.

If your watch is too warm off the charger, let it cool down first. If you suspect that it is a rash, you can refrain from wearing the watch for a few days to see if the red mark goes away. Also, take note if the red mark starts itching. I've had this problem with my watch 4 and I stopped wearing it for a week and the red patch went away. I suspect mine was a rash as it did itch at some point.

In the past, I did get a rash from my Watch Active 2. I suspected it was the soap residue that I didn't wash off cleanly after my run. After washing off cleanly, never had rashes anymore. So, it could also be sweat / soap residue. 😆
